- Accepts and sorts relevant documents which are scattered in government ministries, department and units;
- Catalogues, classifies, indexes, abstracts and organise for easy retrieval, all unpublished reports and government documents, since the centre is the depository for publications of the Government of Dominica.
- Provides technical information services to Government personnel and departments;
- Provides assistance for development of Sectoral Libraries of Government (eg. Agricultural Library)
- Functions as the clearing house for all regional and international information activities operating in the Country;
- Provides secure storage and access.
