The book collection in both the Adult Sections and Children Sections includes Fiction and Non-Fiction books and Novels,
and high demand subject books such as Sociology, Business Management, and Physiology.
Reference Collection
The reference collection consists of a freely open collection of general and subject Dictionaries, Encyclopedias, Yearbooks, and General Fact Books and a closed collection that includes material within the Dominican and West Indian Collections, pamphlets, a black history collection and secondary and tertiary level subject texts to support the educational curriculum.
Dominican Collection
The Dominican Collection consists of mainly monographs written by Dominicans or about Dominica, biographies and Thesis from research conducted about the island. These include fiction and non-fiction books covering the island’s history, culture, folklore, literature, people, religious and political life.
West Indian Collection
The West Indian Collection covers materials written by West Indian author(s) or about the West Indies. It covers West Indian- literature, history, life, culture, architecture, people, and political, social and economic development.
Vertical File Collection
Information files containing clipped newspapers and periodical articles, brochures, leaflets, pamphlets that serve as ready reference tool.
American Corner Collection
The American Corner Collection provides access to information and programs highlighting American culture, history, current events, and government via American-themed books, videos, DVDs and CD-ROMs, games the Internet and through local programming to the general public.
The American Corner established in 2009 at the Roseau Public Library is a partnership between Dominica and the United States Embassy in Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean.
Newspapers
All Dominica newspapers are acquired. The Public Libraries holding includes the current year [up to the past 10 years]. Older publications are available at the National Archives Unit.

The electronic and audiovisual material housed by the Roseau Library include CD-ROMS and Video, Audio-books
Magazines
The periodical collection includes popularly magazines, journals and newsletters.
